Good afternoon,

Just wanted to send you a heads up on the potential for severe weather
Wednesday afternoon and evening across southern New England. Details
follow below.

*WHAT/WHEN:*

   - Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms with the main risk from 3 to
   9 pm.

*WHERE:*

   - All of southern New England is at risk, but the greatest risk is north
and west of the Boston to Providence corridor.

*POTENTIAL IMPACTS:*

   - Damaging wind gusts and large hail are the primary threat
   - Low risk for an isolated tornado
   - Torrential downpours with any strong storms will result in a localized
   flash flood threat
   - Dangerous cloud to ground lightning will pose a risk to those with
outdoor activities, including mariners and beach goers.

*UNCERTAINTY:*

   - A few showers or thunderstorms may move through the region late
tonight into Wed morning. If clouds and showers linger longer than
expected, the severe weather risk in the afternoon would be lower. If
clearing develops fast enough, the severe weather risk would increase.
