[Weather] [2019.08.22 AM] Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms possible Today/this evening

Good morning.

There is a Marginal risk of Severe Thunderstorms in Southern New England
today.  The air is not as unstable as yesterday but could still produce
isolated damaging weather.  Also a large amount of water remains available
to produce heavy downpours.

*WHAT/WHEN:*

   - Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms with the main risk from 2 to
   10 pm.

*WHERE:*

   - All of southern New England is at risk, but the greatest risk is the
   eastern half of Massachusetts (Worcester County and east), all of Rhode
   Island, and Northern Connecticut.

*POTENTIAL IMPACTS:*

   - Damaging wind gusts are the primary threat
   - Heavy downpours from thunderstorms could cause a local flash flood
   threat.
   - Large hail is a secondary threat.
   - Low risk for an isolated tornado.
   - Dangerous cloud to ground lightning will pose a risk to those with
   outdoor activities, including mariners and beach goers.
