Resending the briefing package to include the subject header.

Good afternoon,

Here is our latest thinking on the next phase of the winter storm.

*Watches/Warnings/Advisories:*

NEW:
1) *Winter Storm Warnings* expanded to include coastal Essex, Suffolk,
Norfolk and Plymouth counties.
2) *Winter Weather Advisory* issued for Cape Cod
3) *Wind Storm Warnings converted to Advisories *for western and northern
MA west of I-495

*What we expect:*

*Tonight into Tuesday morning*

   - Rain changing to snow across eastern MA through this evening with
changeover occurring on Cape Cod toward daybreak
   - Bands of heavy snow possible across much of eastern MA, especially
from 4-10 am. Localized snowfall rates of 1-2"/hour possible
   - Significant impacts to morning commute across eastern MA

*Strong Winds:*

   - Wind gusts to 40 mph expected along coastal areas, with the highest
gusts over Cape Ann, outer Cape Cod, and the coastal waters off eastern MA.

*Snow Accumulations:*

   - Additional accumulations after 7 pm tonight through Tuesday morning...
      - Generally 2-4 inches across much of the region, but up to 4-8
inches possible across eastern MA, especially from Boston north through
Essex county and the Merrimack Valley.

*Confidence* :

   - Moderate confidence in additional snowfall of 4 inches for eastern MA.
Lower risk for up to 8 inches, especially north of Boston.
   - If storm tracks a bit further east than expected, lower snowfall
amounts would be realized for eastern MA with max snowfall around 4 inches.
   - If storm tracks further west, 4-8 inches would impact a larger portion
of eastern MA and possibly into northern RI, with locally higher amounts
   north of Boston.
