Good afternoon everyone,

We wanted to give a general heads up for two systems we are watching for
later this week and the weekend. Note that, especially for the weekend
storm, there remains a lot of uncertainty which we will continue to update
you on as we approach.

*Friday:*

   - Light snow will overspread from west to east during the morning
commute. Snowfall rates should generally be light, at or below an inch an
   hour.
   - The light snow will continue, with accumulations of T-3 inches, ending
during the late afternoon and evening. Highest in northern and western
MA/CT, lowest in RI and eastern MA.
   - A change to rain is expected across along the coastline and to the
Mass Pike mid day into the afternoon.
   - Some light accumulations possible on untreated surfaces.

*Saturday night - Sunday:*

   - Low confidence at this time.
   - Precipitation will begin late Saturday evening, overspreading the
entire area Saturday night into Sunday mid day.
   - Tricky precipitation type forecast, potentially starting as period of
heavy, wet snow, changing to ice then to heavy rain into the day on
Sunday. Timing of these changes will be resolved with time.
   - There is also the low-moderate risk for some areal and river flooding
given the snow to rain transition.
   - We are monitoring the risk of coastal flooding along the South Coast.
The period of concern is short, the potential is for minor at most, and the
   risk is currently low

We will continue to update you as the week progresses and confidence
rises. However, in the mean time if you have any questions or concerns
beyond the scope of this briefing, don't hesitate to reach out to us via
any of the means below.
