[Weather] [2019.07.16 PM] Flood and Severe Thunderstorm Threats Wednesday and Thursday, Heat and Humidity Friday through Sunday

Good afternoon,

Please see the attached briefing which outlines potential weather hazards
for the remainder of the week into the weekend. Both weather events may
require headlines to be issued.

*************************************************************************************
*1.) Possible strong to severe thunderstorms along with potential localized
flooding Wednesday through Thursday ...*

*What ... *

   - Strong to severe thunderstorms with locally strong to damaging winds.
   - Heavy downpours, excessive rainfall, localized urban, poor-drainage
   flood risk.

*Where ... *

   - All areas of Southern New England could be affected.

*When ... *

   - Thunderstorm activity will begin around noon Wednesday and continue
   into the evening.
   - Heavy rain threat will also begin around noon Wednesday and are
   forecast to continue into Thursday.

*Confidence ... *

   - Confident there will be thunderstorms, some strong to severe, along
   with heavy downpours across Southern New England for the timeframes
   mentioned. Scattered activity is anticipated.
   - However lower confidence with respect to exactly where the greatest
   impact with respect to either will occur. As previously mentioned, one town
   could be impacted while the neighboring town sees very little.

*2.) Heat and Humidity Friday through Sunday ...*

*What ...*

   - Hot and humid weather with highs around the mid 90s, possibly to
   triple digits.
   - Heat indices ranging from 95F to 105F with sultry conditions as low to
   mid 70 dewpoints are forecast.

*Where ...*

   - All areas of Southern New England except the Cape & Islands will be
   affected.

*When ... *

   - Friday through Sunday.

both potential thunderstorm and flooding activity for Wednesday and
Thursday, along with heat and humidity for Friday through Sunday. Should
