[Weather] [2019.07.18 PM] Excessive Heat/Humidity Begins Friday and Peaks This Weekend

Good afternoon everyone,
Excessive heat and humidity arrives Friday and peaks this weekend. Heat
index values will approach or even exceed 110 degrees in some locations
Saturday and Sunday afternoons. This is dangerous heat and humidity and
relatively rare for this part of the country. We have attached an image of
the Heat Headlines issued along with the maximum heat index values
anticipated Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It is not only heat during the
day, but the lack of cooling at night which will be problematic.
Fortunately, much cooler air arrives Monday.
*Headlines ...*
- Excessive Heat Warnings issued for most of Massachusetts, Connecticut
and Rhode Island.
- Heat Advisories issued for Berkshire County, Cape Cod, and Marthas
Vineyard.
*What ...*
- Excessive heat and humidity begins Friday afternoon and peaks Saturday
and Sunday afternoons.
- Heat Index Values between 95 and 100 degrees Friday afternoon.
- Heat Index Values between 107 and 112 degrees on both Saturday and
Sunday afternoons for most of the region with values between 96 and 102
degrees across Berkshire county, Cape Cod and Marthas Vineyard.
*Where ...*
- Heat headlines in effect for all of southern New England except
Nantucket beginning Friday afternoon and continuing through the weekend.
*When ... *
- Friday afternoon through early Sunday evening.
- Much cooler and less humid Monday.
