Good afternoon,

Our next mixed winter precipitation event is expected during the early
hours of Sunday morning through the afternoon. Details are below.

*WHAT: *
- Minor snow accumulations of a coating to 2 inches are possible with up to
3 inches in the Berkshires. This is followed by a period of sleet and
freezing rain with ice accretion of a few hundredths, locally up to a tenth
of an inch in the highest terrain.
- GALE WATCHES have been issued for gusty winds picking up over the waters
and along the coast.

*WHEN/WHERE:*
- Snow/sleet develops in most locations between 4 and 10 am Sunday.
- Greatest risk for a few inches of snow will be near and north of the MA
turnpike. This will be followed by a quick change to sleet and then rain
along the coastal plain Sunday morning into the afternoon. A period of
freezing rain/light ice accretion is possible during the transition across
interior MA/northern CT before a change to rain in most locations. Bulk of
the precipitation comes to an end by late Sunday evening.
- Winds increase through the day and peak Sunday evening.

*IMPACTS:*
- Untreated roads/walkways may be slippery early Sunday morning into midday
with the greatest risk across the interior high terrain.
- Ice amounts are not expected to be high enough to result in any tree
damage or power outage risk.
- Most locations should rise above freezing by mid afternoon Sunday, but
some areas across the interior high terrain of MA may still see
temperatures hovering around freezing.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank You
Bryce Williams
