Good afternoon,
We wanted to give you a heads up about the potential for some wintry
weather on Tuesday. This system is not expected to bring significant snow
amounts, but icing is a concern. Additionally, being that it could be the
first real accumulating system of the winter, we wanted to bring it to your
attention.
Rain will likely transition to a period of snow from west to east beginning
Tuesday morning. Timing of this transition to snow would be around early
morning for western MA/CT, reaching eastern MA by mid afternoon.
Snow amounts are expected to be light, *generally a coating to an inch of
snow is likely*. One concern for interior Massachusetts would be the
potential for some icing/freezing rain during the early morning hours; a
low probability but a concern we will be evaluating going forward. Stay
tuned for further information.
