Wed Apr 1 20:44:58 UTC 2020

Good afternoon everyone,

An ocean storm moving close to Southern New England from the Canadian
Maritimes late Thursday night thru Friday will bring strong to damaging
winds, building rough seas and minor to moderate coastal flooding potential
for Friday morning's high tide.

*Headlines:*

   - *High Wind Watch*: In effect Friday morning through late Friday night,
for Cape Cod and the Islands.
   - *Coastal Flood Watch*: In effect for Friday morning's high tide, for
coastal eastern MA (including the city of Boston), Cape Cod and the
   Islands.
   - *Coastal Flood Advisory*: In effect for Thursday morning's high tide,
   for Nantucket Harbor.
   - *Storm Watch:* In effect Friday morning thru late Friday night, for
the coastal and offshore waters adjacent Cape Cod and the Islands
(excluding Buzzards Bay and Vineyard Sound).
   - *Gale Watch*: In effect Friday morning thru late Friday night, for the
   remaining waters.

*Details:*

*Coastal Flooding: *

*Thursday Morning: Minor Coastal Flooding*

   - *Locations*: Nantucket Sound
   - *Timing*: From 6 AM to 10 AM Thursday.
   - *Impacts/Inundation*: Up to one foot of inundation above ground level
in low-lying areas near shorelines. [5.6 - 5.8 ft Mean Low Low Water].

*Friday Morning: Up to Moderate Coastal Flooding*

   - *Locations*: Eastern coastal MA, Cape Cod and the Islands.
   - *Timing*: Friday morning (6 AM to 10 AM Friday).
   - *Impacts/Inundation*: For Cape Cod and the Islands: Up to two feet of
inundation above ground level possible. For eastern MA, up to one foot of
    inundation above ground level possible.
   - *Confidence and Uncertainty:* Moderate confidence on coastal flooding,
greatest confidence for minor structural damage across Cape Cod and the
Islands. A storm track closer to Southern New England may further elevate
   the coastal flood threat.

*Strong to Damaging Winds: *

   - *Locations: *Cape Cod and the Islands.
   - *Timing: *Northeast winds increase late Thursday night, with peak
   gusts Friday morning thru afternoon.
   - *Winds*: North winds 25-35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible.
   - *Impacts: *Possible downed trees and powerlines.
   - *Confidence and Uncertainty*: Moderate to high confidence on gusts
producing minor to moderate impacts across Cape Cod and the Islands. A
closer storm track to coastal Southern New England would expand the
coverage of stronger northeast winds further inland. In that situation,
strong winds capable of minor tree/powerline damage could be possible as
   far west as I-95.

Supporting attached graphics include current headlines in effect, the
maximum wind gust and maximum wave height.

Thank You!

Meteorologists Frank Nocera, Andrew Loconto, and Rodney Chai
