[Weather] [04/08 PM] Emergency Management Briefing for Thursday

BOX Operations - NOAA Service Account box.operations at noaa.gov
Wed Apr 8 20:05:53 UTC 2020

Good afternoon, all.

No significant changes with respect to the coastal flood threat tonight
into Friday. High astronomical tides will pose a risk for pockets of minor
coastal flooding around the time of high tides during this time, especially
at the typically more vulnerable locations. We may need to extend some
Coastal Flood Advisories for the late Friday evening high tide, but
confidence is not yet high enough to do so.

Gale warnings posted for most of the southern New England coastal waters
late Thursday through Friday.

There is a possibility for gusty west winds behind a departing low pressure
Thursday evening into Friday. Wind Advisories may be issued with later
forecasts for gusts of 45 mph or greater. Confidence in gusty winds is
high, but only moderate confidence for speeds 45 mph or greater.

Please let is know if you require any additional weather information.
