Good afternoon,

We are expecting isolated strong to locally severe thunderstorms in Western
MA and Northern CT tomorrow afternoon into evening. Isaias is still
forecast to move up the East Coast and affect our area Tuesday into early
Wednesday.

*Sunday afternoon*
*What:*
Isolated strong to locally severe thunderstorms in Western MA and CT Sunday
afternoon into evening.

*Threats:*
Localized damaging winds with a very low but non-zero risk of tornadoes.
Localized urban poor drainage flooding with heavy downpours.

*Timing:*
Mainly 3 to 10 PM, although isolated storms could develop earlier.

*Location:*
Western MA and Northern CT, including the cities of Harford and
Springfield.

*Isaias*
The main change with this update is that Isaias has been downgraded to a
Tropical Storm.

*What:*
Isaias is still forecast to move up the East Coast this weekend through mid
week.

*Threats:*
Potential for 2-4" heavy rain with localized 6" and strong winds of 40 mph
with gusts up to 60 mph. Also, there is potential for minor coastal
flooding and storm surge.

*Timing:*
Tuesday into Wednesday morning.

*Confidence:*
A great deal of uncertainty still exists with Isaias' intensity and track.
Though Isaias has been downgraded into a Tropical Storm, it may
restrengthen into a low-end hurricane in the next 24 hours. In addition, a
slight shift in its track will have significant implications on the axis of
heavy rain and tropical storm force winds.

*Location:*
All of Southern New England.

As a reminder, we will hold conference calls at 2:15 PM Sunday and Monday.
Here is the call information:

Phone: 312-470-7234
Passcode: 49898

Attached are two one-pagers for Sunday afternoon's severe risk and Isaias.

Thanks,
Meteorologists: Rodney Chai, Bill Leatham and Hayden Frank
