[Weather] [2020-08-10 AM] NWS Boston EM Briefing: Increasing Heat and Humidity Through Wednesday

Good morning,

Hot temperatures and rising humidity levels are expected to produce
elevated heat indices in the mid to upper 90s today through midweek.

*Changes Since Last Briefing:*

*Heat Advisory* *in effect until 8 PM Tuesday for all of Southern New
England EXCEPT the Berkshires and the South Coast of RI/MA, Cape Cod and
the Islands. [Note: Extension of the Heat Advisory into Wednesday for MA,
RI and northern CT may be needed in later updates.]*

*Heat Advisory **in effect until 8 PM Wednesday for Fairfield, New Haven,
Middlesex and New London Counties in Southern CT*.

*Details:*

Heat Index Values: In the mid 90s today. Into the mid to upper 90s Tuesday
and Wednesday.

*Confidence: *High through Tuesday, then moderate to high for Wednesday.
There is a little less confidence in the heat index forecast for Wednesday
in MA, RI and northern CT due to potential for more cloudiness and better
rain chances. The Heat Advisory may need to be extended into Wednesday for
these areas pending stronger confidence in heat index values.

Attached graphics include the current Active Hazards in effect, as well as
the latest forecast maximum Heat Index for today, Tuesday and Wednesday.
