[Weather] [2020.03.07 AM] NWS Boston EM Briefing for Wind, Snow and Minor Coastal Flooding this Morning

Good morning,

 A strong ocean storm will lift to the east and northeast of Cape Cod this
morning. Strong winds will persist until late this morning across coastal
areas, especially Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Ocean areas
will have strong winds and high seas.

Snow will gradually taper off from west to east this morning across
southeast MA, Cape Cod and the Islands.

Weather related headlines and specifics are listed below. In addition, the
attached images include storm total snow, maximum wind gust in miles per
hour (MPH) on land, and maximum wave heights in feet for the coastal waters.

*Headlines and locations:*

   - *High Wind Warning* for Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket
   through noon today
   - *Wind Advisory* for Block Island, coastal Essex County, eastern
   Norfolk County and all of Plymouth County through noon today
   - *Storm Warning *in effect for most of the coastal waters south/east of
   MA
   - *Gale Warning* for Boston Harbor, Massachusetts Bay and Ipswich Bay,
   Block Island Sound, Narragansett Bay and coastal waters south of RI
   - *Winter Weather Advisory* for Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and
   Nantucket until 11 AM today
   - *Coastal Flood Advisory *for high tide this morning along all of east
   coastal MA, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket

*What:*

   - North winds of 15 to 35 mph with gusts of 50 to 65 mph. Speeds
   lessening as the morning progresses
   - Tides running around 2 feet above normal. Minor coastal flooding is
   expected with coastal erosion possible
   - Storm total snowfall of 2-4 inches on Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard,
   3-5 inches expected on Nantucket

*When:*

   - Wind speeds diminishing this morning, remaining breezy throughout the
   day
   - High tide this morning brings the greatest risk of coastal flooding
   and erosion
   - Snow tapering off this morning
