Good afternoon/evening,
Here is the latest briefing for the ice accretion event for tonight into
Tuesday morning. Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect for much of
southern New England away from the southeast coast. The main impacts will
be 1) slippery untreated roads and 2) the possibility of ice buildup
causing a few tree limbs to fall and/or some power disruptions -- in the
higher terrain areas of the east slopes of the Berkshires, Worcester
County, and northwest Middlesex County.
Another winter storm is expected Thursday into Friday. Precipitation is
expected to begin as snow on Thursday for all southern New England before
transitioning to ice and rain Thursday night into Friday. The Thursday
evening commute could be adversely impacted. At this time, it is too early
for specific snow and ice accumulations.
