[Weather] NWS Boston EM Briefing: Light Snow & Strong Winds late Thu Night into early Friday morning

Good afternoon everyone,

Attached is a one-page briefing, most likely snowfall (StormTotalSnow),
Potential High End Snow Amount (SnowAmt90Prcntl) and maximum wind gusts
covering Thursday night into Friday.

Not much has changed with a minor snow event likely, 1 to 3 inches with
little impact to the Friday morning commute, but the difference of a few
degrees in temperature and heavier snow intensity could result in more snow
(perhaps 4-6" in some spots with more impact). This really hinges on exact
intensity and location of snow bands along with intensity. As of now the
most likely scenario is for 1-3", but again a low probability for 4-6". If
snow amounts of 4+ inches materializes, then some power outages would be
possible.

The other concern is for strong northeast winds gusting as high as 45 to 55
MPH along the coast from Plymouth county, Cape Cod and the Islands.. Thus
wind advisory has been issued for this area. Gale Warnings have been
issued for the coastal waters.

Coastal flooding, due to astronomical tides remaining low and only a 1-1.5
ft surge expected, coastal flooding is not expected.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Thanks,

Frank Nocera & Bryce Williams
