Good afternoon everyone
We just wanted to let you know that a Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been
issued for Berkshire County in Western Massachusetts as well as Litchfield
County in Connecticut through 7 pm this evening.
A line of showers and embedded thunderstorms will bring the potential for
damaging wind gusts as it enters far western MA and far western CT after 5
or 6 PM. Across the rest of our region, odds favor the line weakening as it
moves east supporting mainly 35-45 mph wind gusts along with brief heavy
rain. That being said, an isolated severe thunderstorm still can not be
ruled out further east. Lastly, isolated tree damage is still possible with
sub-severe wind gusts given fully leafed trees.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns!
Thank You!
Meteorologists: Hayden Frank, William Leatham, and Robert Megnia
