[Weather] [2022.04.18 PM] NWS Boston EM Briefing: Strong Storm to Bring Multiple Weather Hazards Tonight/Tomorrow Morning

Good afternoon,

Find attached our latest briefing and supporting graphics on a storm
system expected to bring strong winds, wind-driven heavy rains,
accumulating snow at elevations above 1500 ft, and coastal flooding.

*Weather Headline Changes Since Last Full Briefing: *

   - *Coastal Flood Warning* in effect for coastal Fairfield County in
   southern CT.
   - *Coastal Flood Advisory* for coastal New Haven County in southern CT.
   - *Coastal Flood Statement* for minor splashover in effect for eastern
   MA from South Shore to the North Shore.
   - *Wind Advisory* for Berkshire County in western MA.

*Wind Gusts, Rain, Snow Accumulation Changes Since Last Full Briefing:*

   - Wind gusts adjusted upward slightly.
   - Snow accumulations across the high terrain adjusted downward slightly.


We still anticipate that strong winds and heavy rain will be the main
impacts felt by most people during this event. Coastal flooding risks
appear greatest in southern CT closer to high tide, with minor splashover
for vulnerable shoreline roads in eastern MA. Up to 4 inches of wet snow
may coat trees across the Berkshires.

Supporting graphics attached include:

   - Updated peak wind gust map, and an attached wind gust table which
   shows the timing of wind gusts tonight through Tuesday.
   - Updated snow and rainfall accumulations.
   - Active Wind, Winter Weather and Marine Headlines.
   - Active Coastal Flood Headlines.

Unless there are significant changes that dictate otherwise, this will be
the final briefing on this weather event.
