Good evening everyone,
There have been no changes to the Winter Weather Advisories, which remain
in effect for Barnstable and eastern Plymouth Counties until 4 PM
Saturday. However, we have upped event totals to as much as local 6 to 8
inch amounts in eastern Plymouth County by Saturday afternoon (see attached
map). Snowfall so far has been as high as 3 to 4 inches in spots.
FYI, the criteria for a Winter Storm Warning is if an average of 8 inches
falls in a 24 hour period. This is over a much longer period and those
higher amounts are more localized, not common throughout the zone. So,
that is why Advisories remain posted.
