[Weather] [2023.12.07 PM] NWS Boston EM Briefing: Dec 10-11 Storm

Good Afternoon,

We are closely evaluating the expected development of a strong storm system
that will impact southern New England late Sunday into Monday -- with
increasing probability that it will produce a period of strong wind gusts
of 45-60 mph, locally heavy rainfall and perhaps some minor coastal
flooding. More information is provided in the 1-Pager briefing that is
attached, and we will be working to determine more of the details in the
coming couple of days.

Also attached to this email are two separate images.
1) Current probability of wind gusts exceeding 45 mph. The point
probability values are plotted on the map, though the yellow and orange
shaded areas denote where the current chances of seeing those strong wind
gusts are above 50%.
2) A snapshot from our Ensemble River Forecast
<https://www.weather.gov/erh/mmefs>system. Of note are the locations with
orange circles which represent a 30% chance of a river reaching minor flood
stage. These outlooks will likely change in the coming days as the rainfall
forecasts from computer models converge on a most likely outcome. Thought
this link would be helpful for some of you.

At this point, we are not planning on issuing another briefing until
tomorrow (Friday) afternoon.
