Good Afternoon Everyone,
Attached is the latest one-page briefing on the potential for light icing
and slippery travel overnight and Thursday morning across portions of
western, central, and interior northeast Massachusetts. No changes have
been made to the areas covered in the Winter Weather Advisory.
Temperatures have trended just a bit warmer from our previous forecast
which delays the onset of light icing and slippery travel by a few hours.
The main time frame for the start of icy conditions now looks to be from 5
AM through 9 AM Thursday.
Within the Advisory area, the main focus is north of Route 2 near the
Vermont and New Hampshire border. Other communities in the Advisory area
can expect icing to be more spotty in nature. Temperatures will remain near
freezing during the day Thursday before dropping further Thursday evening.
This could bring another round of slippery travel for the Thursday evening
commute.
Outside of the Advisory area, no icing is expected.
If you have any questions or would like more information, don't hesitate to
contact us via this email address, on NWSChat <https://nwschat.weather.gov/>,
or by phone at (508) 622-3280. We will send the next briefing before 6 AM
Thursday.
Thanks,
Joe Dellicarpini and Kristie Smith
