[Weather] [12.04.2024 PM] NWS Boston Briefing - Interior Snow and Gusty Winds Dec 4-6

Good afternoon,

Attached are our latest one-page briefing, snowfall map, and updated
headlines for the upcoming clipper system. Overall, the forecast remains
consistent with only minor adjustments. We are expecting widespread
snowfall amounts of 2–6 inches across western and central Massachusetts and
the northern hills of Tolland and Litchfield Counties, while areas along
and southeast of the I-95 corridor should remain all rain. A key forecast
challenge remains determining whether rain transitions to snow northwest
the I-95 corridor during the Thursday morning commute.

Since this morning, we have expanded the Winter Weather Advisory into parts
of Connecticut to include Tolland and Litchfield Counties, aligning with
advisories issued by both our office and the Albany, NY office.
Additionally, the Wind Advisory has been extended to cover all of northern
Connecticut and western/central Massachusetts, primarily for the afternoon
and evening hours on Thursday.

As the widespread snowfall winds down mid-morning Thursday, our attention
will shift to the potential for impactful snow squalls across interior
southern New England leading to poor visibility and snow covered roads.
