[Weather] [2024.12.30 PM] NWS Boston EM Briefing: Strong to Damaging Gusts on Thursday

Good afternoon,

While it’s early, we wanted to provide an early heads-up regarding a
potential strong wind event on Thursday, January 2nd, especially with the
New Year’s holiday this week. At this time, we are confident in widespread
wind gusts between 45 and 55 mph, but we cannot rule out higher gusts. As
the event is still three days away, adjustments to the timing and strength
of the gusts are possible.

Attached is a one-page briefing with more details on what we know so far
and the forecast challenges we will be monitoring. Please feel free to
reach out if you have any questions. Our next briefing is expected to be
issued Tuesday by 6 PM.
