Hello Emergency Managers,
NHC and FEMA have worked together to offer *K0311: Hurricane Readiness for
Coastal Communities*, a virtual replacement for L0311, on *April 29 and 30
from 1-5 pm EDT/12-4 pm CDT/10 am-2 pm PDT*. This is a virtual training
course designed to enhance preparedness and response capabilities among
coastal emergency managers.
*Course Details:*
*Title*: K0311 – Hurricane Readiness for Coastal Communities
*Dates*: April 29–30, 2025
*Time*: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time (each day)
*Delivery*: Virtual via Zoom (login details will be provided upon
registration)

*Important*: If you would like to receive National Disaster and Emergency
Management University (NDEMU, formally EMI) credit and Continuing Education
Units (CEUs) for your participation in the K0311 course, you *must *register
for the course on NDEMU’s website with the K0311 course code and fill out a
course evaluation after the training. The course evaluation form will be
shared at the end of the training.

This course is tailored for emergency managers and officials in
hurricane-prone coastal areas and will be delivered by subject matter
experts from the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and FEMA. Participants
will gain critical insights into hurricane hazards, forecast
interpretation, decision-making tools, and best practices for coastal
readiness and operational decision making.
Whether you are new to emergency management or seeking to strengthen your
team’s hurricane preparedness strategies prior to hurricane season, this
training provides valuable knowledge and tools to support effective
planning and response operations.
