[Weather] [2025.12.01 PM] NWS Boston EM Briefing: Winter Storm Tuesday into Tuesday Night

Good afternoon,

Please find attached an updated one-page briefing regarding the winter
storm expected to impact the region Tuesday into Tuesday night.

*What's Changed:*
Forecast confidence has increased, leading us to issue Winter Storm
Warnings for North Central Worcester County, all of Franklin County, and
Western Hampshire County. Accumulations in these areas are likely to range
from 6 to 9 inches. The heavy, wet nature of the snow may result in power
outages.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Eastern Hampshire, Hampton, and
southern Worcester Counties, where 3 to 5 inches of snow are possible on
Tuesday.

*Timing:*
Snow will begin in the higher terrain between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM, moving
from west to east. Rain will overspread the coastal plain after 10:00 AM.
The bulk of precipitation is expected to end from west to east between 8:00
PM and midnight.

*Lingering Forecast Challenges:*
Although overall forecast confidence in the storm’s amounts and impacts has
increased, a few questions remain:

1. Northward Extent of Warmer Air: Warmer air could reduce snow totals in
the interior, especially at lower elevations.
2. Potential for minor snow accumulation along the I-95 corridor.
