[Weather] [2025.12.02 PM] NWS Boston EM Briefing: Winter Storm Ongoing into Tonight

Good afternoon,

Following is an update to the weather briefing for the winter storm ongoing
in Southern New England.

*What's Changed:*
Added minor ( < 0.1") icing accretion from light freezing rain for
portions of northern Connecticut and western and central Massachusetts.
This has prompted expanding the Winter Weather Advisory for Hartford and
Tolland Counties through 7 AM Wednesday.

*Timing: *
Moderate snows for most of interior central and western Massachusetts, with
some occasional sleet and freezing rain mixing in across portions of
northern Connecticut, will continue through the afternoon before easing up
by evening and tapering off overnight. Rain in portions of eastern
Massachusetts and Rhode Island are expected to continue through early
evening, then change over to a brief period of wet snow between 8 pm and 1
am before tapering off in all areas overnight.

This will be the final briefing for this winter weather event, unless there
are substantial changes.
