[Weather] [2025.01.01 PM] NWS Boston EM Briefing: Strong/Damaging Winds Possible Tonight and Thu

Good afternoon,

Attached is an updated one-page briefing and wind gust forecast graphic
regarding the potential for strong and possibly damaging winds tonight and
especially on Thursday.

There are no significant changes this afternoon; the information provided
this morning remains  accurate. Confidence remains high for widespread
gusts of 45 to 55 mph, with isolated gusts up to 60 mph possible,
particularly in western and central Massachusetts. Winds are expected to
diminish late Thursday night into Friday morning, with gusts decreasing to
25 to 35 mph.

Additionally, much colder temperatures are anticipated on Friday, with
highs in the 30s, and potentially sub-freezing highs over the weekend.
