[Weather] [2026.03.03 PM] NWS Boston EM Briefing: Snow and Ice This Afternoon and Tonight

Good morning everyone,

Following is an update to the weather briefing regarding the ongoing snow
to wintry mix event across Southern New England.

Minor increases to snowfall and icing in the higher terrain were the main
changes with this update, although the changes were not enough to warrant
adjustments to hazards or key messaging.

After precipitation ends around or shortly after midnight, the risk for
black ice and continued slippery roads will increase into Wednesday
morning.

Unless there are substantial changes which would warrant otherwise, expect
this to be the final briefing on this weather event.
