There is the possibility flow could be great enough to cause to ice to move or break up which could lead to localized ice jam flooding. A light glaze of ice is possible across the southern Adirondacks, and the northern reaches of the Lake George Region which could lead to slippery conditions on any untreated surfaces. *Friday into the Weekend:* With milder temperatures and some rainfall expected, river ice may break up and/or move on Friday into the weekend. Light snow early this morning will change to sleet and freezing rain after sunrise, before ending as plain rain showers this afternoon. Areas north of I-90 may see a wintry mix linger into the evening hours, especially over the higher terrain. The combination of snow, sleet, and freezing rain will lead to hazardous travel conditions. A Wind Advisory has been issued for the southern Greens, northern/central Taconics, Berkshires, and western Adirondacks. Southeasterly winds will gust to around 50 mph today across the Advisory area. The Winter Weather Advisory has been expanded into southern Vermont and eastern Rensselaer County NY. Accumulating snow will begin over the next few hours across eastern New York and western New England and continue into early Monday morning. This is expected to be a light to moderate snow, with periods of heavy snow where the Winter Storm Warning is in place. The heaviest snow for the Albany Forecast Area is forecast to fall over Litchfield County CT and southern Berkshire County MA. Snowfall rates are expected to be around a half inch per hour at times over east-central New York and southern Vermont, and up to an inch per hour at times over Litchfield and southern Berkshire Counties.
