Heavy rainfall combined with some snow melt may lead to minor flooding, as well as ponding of water in low lying and urban areas. Isolated thunderstorms may accompany the heaviest rainfall early this morning. A *Wind Advisory* remains in effect for all of eastern New York and western New England for through this afternoon. Southwest to west winds will gusts up to 55 mph, which may allow for some downed trees and power outages. After very mild weather this morning, temperatures are expected to fall this afternoon into this evening behind the departing storm. Dear Emergency Managers and other partners, A *Flood Watch* remains in effect for the Mohawk Valley and Adirondacks for 6 PM today through 6 PM Sunday. Heavy rainfall combined with some snow melt may lead to minor flooding, as well as ponding of water in low lying and urban areas. Some thunderstorms may accompany the heaviest rainfall for late tonight into early Sunday morning. A *Wind Advisory* is in effect for all of eastern New York and western New England for late tonight through Sunday afternoon. Southwest to west winds will gusts up to 50 mph, which may allow for some downed trees and power outages. After very mild weather today and tonight, temperatures are expected to fall during the day Sunday behind the departing storm. Temperatures will fall below freezing between Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening across the region. This may allow for any remaining wet surfaces to become slick. Dear Emergency Managers and other partners, A *Flood Watch* remains in effect for the Mohawk Valley and Adirondacks but is now in effect from 6 PM today to 6 PM Sunday. Heavy rainfall combined with some snow melt may lead to minor flooding. A strong storm system is expected to produce widespread moderate to locally heavy rainfall across portions of the region late today into Sunday. This rain may lead to flooding within urban and poor drainage areas as well as some main stem rivers and smaller rivers and streams. There is a slight chance of some thunderstorms Sunday morning with the frontal passage. Some gusty winds to 40 to 45 mph are also possible Saturday night into Sunday morning, especially over the higher terrain. After the frontal passage west winds could gust to 35 to 45 mph. A brief period of sleet and or freezing rain will be possible for areas north and west of the Capital District Friday morning, with a light glaze of ice possible. If the confidence in freezing rain increases, then A Winter Weather Advisory will be issued. In addition, a period of freezing rain is possible early Sunday morning between midnight and 7AM over portions of the southern Adirondacks. A strong storm system is expected to produce a widespread moderate to locally heavy rainfall event across the region Saturday into Sunday. The heaviest rainfall is expected across the southern Adirondacks, Mohawk Valley and Lake George Saratoga regions. There is potential for river flooding in these areas due to the combination of snowmelt and heavy rainfall. Also, a line of showers, with some thunderstorms possible, will cross eastern New York and western New England Sunday morning. These showers may bring a brief period of heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts. These heavier showers may cause some localized urban and poor drainage flooding on Sunday morning.
