The Storm Prediction Center has placed eastern NY and western New England in a "Slight Risk" for severe weather. Damaging winds will be the primary concern. Hail and even an isolated tornado are possible. Besides the potential for damaging winds, thunderstorms today will also be capable of heavy rainfall that may lead to to ponding of water in low lying, urban and poor drainage areas. An isolated flash flood is possible and the latest Excessive Rainfall graphic has a "Marginal to Slight Risk" for our entire region to exceed flash flood guidance. *Thursday August 8, 2019* Scattered thunderstorms could occur once again Thursday afternoon and evening, some of which could contain strong wind gusts Please refer to the attached briefing for additional information.
