A widespread 2 - 4 inches of rain is likely through Thursday, with isolated higher amounts possible in the high terrain. The rainfall may become locally heavy which may result in some poor drainage flooding of low lying areas, and ponding of water on roadways. Leaves and other debris could clog some drains and produce some nuisance flooding. A Wind Advisory has been issued for the entire forecast area from 8 PM tonight through 8 PM Thursday. Southeast winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts over 45 mph are possible this evening for the Taconics, Berkshires, northwest hills of Connecticut and southern Green Mountains of Vermont. Winds then shift out of the northwest on Thursday with sustained winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
