*** The information in this email pertains to the following areas only:**** *- In Connecticut: Litchfield County* *- In Massachusetts: Berkshire County* *- In Vermont: Bennington & Windham Counties* *- In New York: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Ulster, Warren and Washington Counties* Dear Emergency Managers and other partners, A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the southern Adirondacks, western Mohawk Valley, Lake George-Saratoga Region and southern Vermont. 6-12 inches of snow with isolated amounts up to 15 inches can be expected across the warning area (greatest amounts in higher terrain). Previous Winter Storm Watches remain in effect for snow totals of 4-8 inches. Winter Weather Advisories or additional Winter Storm Warnings may be needed for the remainder of the area. A bitterly cold air mass will move into the region Wednesday afternoon and persist through Friday. The combination of the cold temperatures and winds will produce dangerous wind chills, especially Wednesday night through Thursday. This will likely cause some isolated problems with frozen pipes and broken water mains. Please see attached briefing for further details regarding the upcoming storm and dangerous cold.
