*** The information in this email pertains to the following areas only:**** *- In Connecticut: Litchfield County* *- In Massachusetts: Berkshire County* *- In Vermont: Bennington & Windham Counties* *- In New York: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Ulster, Warren and Washington Counties* *Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,* *Wednesday afternoon into Thursday:* Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for much of eastern New York and western New England. A period of freezing rain is expected across the region Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. The Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes could be difficult depending on the exact timing of the freezing rain. The precipitation will change to all rain over most areas Thursday morning. Many locations could receive a tenth to a quarter inch of ice during this time frame. *Thursday - Friday:* Periods of above freezing temperatures, snow melt and rain will lead to rises on area rivers. Although river flows are not expected to reach flood levels on their own, river rises may be enough to cause some ice break up and movement which could lead to some localized ice jam flooding.
