Moderate snow will begin around midday Sunday and continue through the afternoon and evening hours. Snowfall will become lighter and intermitten for Sunday night and may mix with sleet and ice in spots. Snow will become steadier and heavier for Monday and continue into Monday night. Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for much of the area. where two-day snowfall totals of 12 to 20 inches will be common. Winter Storm Watch remains in effect for the Adirondacks, mid Hudson Valley and NW CT where there is more uncertainty regarding total precipitation amounts.
