NWS Albany - Heavy rain and wind tonight into Friday Night - Thursday, December 20, 2018 - 5 PM
**** The information in this email pertains to the following areas only:**** *- In Connecticut: Litchfield County* *- In Massachusetts: Berkshire County* *- In Vermont: Bennington & Windham Counties* *- In New York: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Ulster, Warren and Washington Counties* Dear Emergency Managers and other Partners, A large storm system will bring a widespread moderate to potentially heavy rainfall tonight into Friday night. The rainfall coupled with some snow melt in the higher terrain may produce some minor river flooding and urban/poor drainage flooding. A Flood Watch has been issued for all of eastern New York and western New England. Current forecast rainfall totals are mainly in the 1 to 3 inch range with locally higher totals over higher terrain south and east of the Capital District. In addition, strong east to southeast gusty winds are also possible over the higher terrain of eastern New York and western New England, especially above 2000' elevation.
