NWS Albany - Potential for Strong Winds & High Elevation Snowfall for Friday-Saturday - March 20, 2019 - 430 PM
Dear Emergency Managers and other partners, A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the potential for a heavy wet snowfall Friday and Friday night over Hamilton, Herkimer, Bennington, and western Windham Counties. Moderate snowfall amounts are possible over the remainder of the southern Adirondacks, central Mohawk Valley, and northern Berkshires. A Winter Weather Advisory may be needed for these areas. In addition, strong west to northwest winds will be possible Friday night into Saturday across eastern New York and western New England. If confidence increases for frequent wind gusts in excess of 45 mph, then a Wind Advisory may be needed. Please see the attached briefing for details.
