NWS Albany - Strong Winds & High Elevation Snowfall for Thursday-Saturday - March 20, 2019 - 5 AM UPDATE
Dear Emergency Managers and other partners, There is potential for a moderate to heavy wet snowfall Thursday night into Saturday across the southern Adirondacks and southern Green Mountains. If confidence increases for moderate to heavy snowfall amounts, then a Winter Storm Watch may be needed later in time. In addition, Strong west to northwest winds will be possible Friday night into Saturday across much of the region. If confidence increases for frequent wind gusts in excess of 45 mph, then a wind advisory may be needed. Attached are images depicting the possible highest end snowfall accumulations, the possible minimum snow accumulations, as well as the most likely (and current forecast) snowfall accumulations for this upcoming snowfall event.
