Hello all, Here is the latest information on upcoming *virtual Hurricane Readiness and HURREVAC Training. *Given the adjustments due to COVID for the Spring outreach schedule, the National Hurricane Program <https://www.fema.gov/emergency-managers/risk-management/hurricanes> (NHP) will be providing a new option to engage emergency managers in preparation for hurricane season. The NHP program partners have adapted portions of their training for a virtual webinar series. This training is in lieu of the 3 one-week FEMA courses that are offered annually at the National Hurricane Center. This training is based on material that is used for the one-day FEMA L-311 course that is typically offered at the National Hurricane Conference and Florida Governor’s Hurricane Conference. The training will occur over 3 days with sessions lasting 3 h each day. The final day will include some Hurrevac training. The training will be led by folks from National Hurricane Center, the FEMA Hurricane Liaison Team, FEMA Regional Hurricane Program Managers, and the USACE. *See the description below and the attached flyer for more information on the virtual Hurricane Readiness and HURREVAC Training. * *Description of Webinar Training:* This training webinar is an introduction to the National Hurricane Center’s forecast products and the National Hurricane Program’s tools for how to incorporate them into planning and response. Topics include hurricane hazards, hurricane forecast products, hurricane evacuation planning, and the hurricane decision process. The NHP provides data, resources and technical assistance for hurricane evacuation planning and response for state, local, tribal, territorial and federal government partners. Participants will be introduced to the NHP’s decision support tool, HURREVAC <https://hurrevac.com/>. HURREVAC is a free web-based platform available to government emergency managers that provides evacuation timing guidance. HURREVAC combines real-time National Hurricane Center forecast products and storm surge modeling with evacuation clearance times from Hurricane Evacuation Studies. This training webinar is ideal for State and local emergency managers that support evacuation decision making during a hurricane threat. *Webinar Format:* The training webinar will be a total of 9 hours of instruction; instruction will be provided for three hours on three consecutive days.
