Greetings everyone, A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Western Massachusetts as well as portions of Northern Connecticut. The Watch is in effect through 12 am. A graphic showing the watch area has been attached. - Main concern is strong to damaging winds associated with a sweeping line of storms out of Upstate NY, moving east at roughly 45 mph. - Numerous reports of downed trees and power lines with 40 to 50 mph gusts with this line west of Albany, NY. - Could see some discrete storms out ahead of the line which could be strong to severe. - With any and all activity torrential downpours can be expected which could contribute to localized flooding.
