Good afternoon everyone, Here is the latest forecast information for Hurricane Dorian. *There have been no significant changes since this morning. *Tropical Storm Watches remain in effect for Cape Cod and the Islands as well as the adjacent coastal waters. *Headlines: * -Tropical Storm Watches for Cape Cod and the Islands as well as adjacent coastal waters. *Period of greatest Threat:* - Late Friday night into Saturday morning *Locations most at risk*: - Cape Cod and islands, as well as the adjacent coastal waters. Highest risk is Nantucket and coastal waters to their east and south. *Potential Impacts: * *- *Period of 40 to 60 mph wind gusts across Cape Cod and The Islands. This may result in some downed trees and scattered power outages. - Heavy rain of 1 to 4 inches across Cape Cod and The Islands. Heaviest rain occurs late Friday night into Saturday morning. Some urban/poor drainage street flooding may occur. - Minor coastal flooding possible between 6 and 10 am on the north side of Nantucket and perhaps some north or east facing beaches of Cape Cod. *No significant coastal flooding or property damage is expected.* - 45 to 55 knot wind gusts and 15 to 20+ foot seas across our waters, especially across the waters east of Cape Cod and Nantucket. Dangerous Conditions for mariners. *Confidence*: - Moderate to high confidence in a period of strong wind gusts and heavy rain across the Cape and Islands, especially Nantucket. - If the track of Dorian shifts a bit further east than expected the strong winds would be confined to Nantucket points south and east. - If the track of Dorian shifts further west than expected strong wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph wind gusts along and southeast of a Boston to Providence line.
