Good morning everyone... A High Wind Watch has been issued for western and central Massachusetts tonight into Tuesday night. An extended period of westerly wind gusts of 50 to 60 mph with the strongest of those winds favored across western and central Massachusetts. There still remains some uncertainty on the exact magnitude of the winds...but additional Wind Advisories and/or High Wind Warnings will likely be needed for much of southern New England. The other issue will be Wind Chills dropping into the single digits and teens tonight through Tuesday night. Lastly...temperatures near freezing very early this morning northwest of I-95 were still resulting in some icing on untreated roads and walkways. Temperatures will continue to rise and the Winter Weather Advisory should be allowed to expire on time at 6 am for the rest of interior southern New England. A few of the typical low-lying spots may have localized icing last into mid-morning...but again that threat would be very localized.
