Excessive Heat Watch for much of southern New England (*excluding *the Berkshires and southern coastal New England) has now been extended through Friday. There is a low probability the heat wave could continue through Saturday. 2. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a Day 3 Marginal severe risk for possible strong to severe storms late Thursday, with the main threat being isolated damaging winds and localized street flooding. The threat level may be upgraded and/or expanded with future updates. Attached is the latest briefing regarding the dangerous heat expected across southern New England mid to late this week as well as a one-pager on the potential severe threat late Thursday. We have also attached the Heat Indices expected each day from Wednesday through Saturday. *Please note** the attached graphic showing the advisories/watches/warnings does not show the Excessive Heat Watch due to how it is plotted.
