Please see the attached slides summarizing the latest headlines and threats for Southern New England. *What / When / Where ...* *For Today into this evening at the very latest ... * - *WIND ADVISORIES* for all of Southern New England continue through 3 pm today. - Gusts as strong as 50 mph. - Continued impacts of scattered tree, tree limb, and / or power line damage. - Power outages possible. - *GALE WARNINGS* continue for all waters through 7 pm this evening. - Gusts up to 50 kts with seas 8 to 12 feet on the outer waters. - Minor freezing spray on the eastern MA waters especially. - Freezing spray is forecast to linger over E MA waters as late as Sunday. - Hazardous marine conditions even for properly equipped vessels. *For the Tuesday into Wednesday time frame ... * - Winter weather for all of Southern New England beginning late Tuesday into Wednesday morning. - Exact details remain fuzzy at this time, but the expectation is for onset snow transitioning to rain for the coast while a wintry mix across the interior. - Biggest concern is impacts for the Tuesday afternoon into evening commute, as well as the Wednesday morning commute. Travel headaches with untreated surfaces becoming slick ... reductions in visibility as a result of snow.
