[09.08.2023 AM] NWS Boston EM Briefing: Heat & Humidity Along With Scattered Severe T-Storms Possible Across the Interior
Good morning everyone The main concern today is the potential for scattered severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. This threat is mainly along and northwest of a Hartford, to Worcester, to Lowell line between 2 and 10 pm this evening. Damaging straight line wind gusts are the main concern with heavy rain/street flooding and hail all secondary concerns. In addition...Heat Advisories have been expanded eastward across the eastern MA coast including Boston given offshore winds. Much of the region will see heat indices in the middle to upper 90s. Attached is the graphic indicating the severe weather potential this afternoon and evening. We have also included a map of the Heat Advisories and the expected Heat Indices.
