Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,

A storm system is expected to bring a long period of mixed precipitation to
the forecast area Sunday evening into Tuesday.  The main threat is
from freezing rain, with up to half an inch of accretion possible.  Light
to moderate amounts of snow and sleet are also possible.  The Winter Storm
Watch has been expanded to the rest of eastern New York and western New
England aside from the Hudson Valley from Albany south and southern
Litchfield County.

Significant impacts are possible in the watch area, including power outages
and difficult to impossible travel.  There is high confidence in travel
difficulties in portions of the watch area, but there is still a good deal
of uncertainty in exact amounts of ice, sleet, and snow, and there is
uncertainty about whether valley areas will see more rain or freezing rain.
