Dear Emergency Managers and other partners,
A *Flood Watch* remains in effect for the Mohawk Valley and Adirondacks but
is now in effect from 6 PM today to 6 PM Sunday. Heavy rainfall combined
with some snow melt may lead to minor flooding.
A strong storm system is expected to produce widespread moderate to locally
heavy rainfall across portions of the region late today into Sunday. This
rain may lead to flooding within urban and poor drainage areas as well
as some main stem rivers and smaller rivers and streams. There is a slight
chance of some thunderstorms Sunday morning with the frontal passage. Some
gusty winds to 40 to 45 mph are also possible Saturday night into Sunday
morning, especially over the higher terrain.
After the frontal passage west winds could gust to 35 to 45 mph. If
greater wind gusts are expected, then a Wind Advisory may be issued.
Please see attached PDF briefing for details.
