Good afternoon everyone,
Here is an update on the remainder of the ongoing winter storm.
As of this afternoon we have received reports of icing from 0.25 to as much
as 0.75 inches (in Goshen) in the slopes of the Berkshires, and up to 0.25"
of icing in the Worcester Hills.
This has been a very messy event with many locations switching between
sleet, freezing rain, and snow. While the bulk of the event is behind us,
we will continue to see a mix of rain, sleet, and snow into the overnight
hours.
*Frozen precip will continue to recede north through the early morning
hours, adding up to an additional half inch of slushy sleet/snow
generally north of Route 2. *
*Additionally, some thunderstorms are possible with lightning and small
hail into the early evening in western/central MA and northern CT. *
