Good afternoon everyone,

Attached is a brief outline on the upcoming winter storm along with several
images attached. While specific snow amounts are still uncertain and hinge
on when exactly snow changes to sleet, confidence is very high that the
Tuesday pm commute will be significantly impacted with very hazardous
travel.

*What has changed ...*

   - *Very High confidence in a significant impact to the Tuesday PM
commute. 1-2 inch per hour snowfall rates are expected for at least a
brief period of time, especially near and north of the MA Turnpike.*

   - The Winter Storm Watch has been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning
   for Berkshire county in MA.

*What / Where / When ...*

   - Snow develops between 10 am and noon across western MA/northern CT
reaching eastern MA/RI between noon and 3 pm.

   - *Significant impact expected for the Tuesday afternoon and evening
commute across all of southern New England:*
      - Hazardous travel with 1-2" per hour snowfall rates and poor
visibility expected for at least a brief period of time during
the Tuesday
PM commute, especially near and north of the MA turnpike.
      - Snow changes to a period of heavy sleet from southwest to northeast
between 4 and 10 pm Tuesday evening, but heavy snow may linger longer in
      northeast MA.

   - Sleet changes to rain across most of eastern MA and RI by or shortly
   after midnight.

   - Sleet changes to a period of freezing rain across much of interior MA
and northern CT near or shortly after midnight. Ice accretion of one to two
tenths of an inch expected, but the threat of tree damage and power outages
   appears rather low.

   - The steady precipitation will be coming to an end in most locations
before the Wednesday morning rush hour. Untreated roads across the
interior MA/CT may still be snow/ice covered, but the impact will likely be
significantly less then the Tuesday PM commute.

   - Temperatures will rise above freezing in all locations by late
Wednesday morning. No problems expected for the Wednesday pm commute.

*Uncertainty ...*

   - Specific snowfall amounts remain uncertain. 4 to 7 inches are
forecast near and north of the MA Turnpike with 2 to 4 inches south of the
Pike. These amounts may increase or decrease by a few inches, dependent on
the specific time snow changes to sleet.

   - Regardless of specific snow amounts, High confidence in a SIGNIFICANT
IMPACT for the Tuesday PM commute with at least a brief period of 1 to 2
inch per hour snowfall rates in most locations that will stick to roadways
   immediately.
