Good morning,
There are no big changes with this update.
We continue to forecast a strong storm to impact the region on Monday,
bringing strong winds and heavy downpours to Southern New England.
*Headlines:*
No headlines are in effect at this time. It is possible that headlines will
be issued later this weekend.
*Details:*
*Strong to Damaging Winds:*
South winds will increase Sunday night. Wind gusts 50 to 60 mph are
possible on Monday on Cape Cod and Islands. Wind gusts 40 to 50 mph are
possible along the remainder of the coastline, the coastal plain, and
higher elevations inland.
*Heavy Rain:*
Rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is possible from late Sunday night through
Monday. This may cause areas of urban and poor drainage flooding. River
flooding is not expected.
*Thunderstorms*:
Thunderstorms will move through ahead of a cold front Monday afternoon and
early Monday night. The main hazards would be lightning and strong wind
gusts.
Thanks
Bryce Williams and Frank Nocera
