Hi everyone,
We want to give you an update regarding the upcoming winter storm. Our
greatest concern is following the changeover from rain, there is increasing
potential for prolific snowfall rates within a narrow band somewhere in
Massachusetts mid to late afternoon on Saturday. While it will be well
above freezing to begin with, temperatures will rapidly cool and lead to
1-3 inches/hr of snowfall rate. Given that the snow will be heavy and wet
in nature, this could have significant effects on travel and lead to
widespread power outages wherever the band sets up. While we have high
confidence in this narrow band with prolific snowfall rates setting up, the
exact location remains to be fine tuned.
Thank you.
Rodney Chai and Kevin Cadima
